Death of a Robin and the Mercenaries Who Laid Her Low

I never thought that I would put this sweet little face on notice.

Sweet little Bauer-Poo

But, I like to watch the birds in the bird bath.  And I enjoy their singing and the hopefulness of seeing a nest like my friend over at Duties to Delights.

But, true to his namesake, Jack Bauer, the Maine Coon half-breed, seeks to rid the world of evildoers (aka birds, robins, sparrows, etc). He brings them to justice in the surest way possible, and deposits them in the path of the righteous (or, sometimes called, my garden).

Jack Bauer, the Avenger of Evil

He is often seen in the company of fellow Avenger, Hungus (the neighbor’s cat).

Hungus, faithful partner in the quest to rid the world of birds.

We keep these kitties well-fed and spoiled with treats. I would keep Bauer in the house if I could, but he’s semi-feral and that comes with a host of indoor cat issues. He’s a much calmer and healthier cat outside. Unfortunately, despite the full bellies and spoilage, we still see the occasional reminder that Jack Bauer cannot ever be completely tamed.
